Viva Las Vegas!!!!!

In September Randy and I had the opportunity to attend a global conference for Wyndham Worldwide (12 different brands of hotels). We left on Sunday, September 19 and came home on Thursday, September 23, 2010.

While we were there we had meetings and classes to attend, but when we weren't at classes or meetings we wandered around the resort keeping ourselves entertained. We were staying at Mandalay Bay, and it was a beautiful resort! We went to the shark reef and saw a ton of really big, cool sharks (and other fish). We also went to the hotel next door (the Luxor) and saw the Human Body exhibit. This was way cool, especially for someone like me who is fascinated with the medical field. On our "free" night from meetings we went to a buffet in the hotel and ate a TON of really yummy food! I was so full after we were done I really needed my "stretchy pants"! haha After dinner we went to a Broadway production of Disney's The Lion King. That was just amazing!!! What a fantastic show and even more fantastic costumes!

During the week we were trying to find a rental car so that we could attend a session at the Las Vegas Temple on our last day. There were no rental cars at all in Las Vegas, so we didn't think we were going to be able to go. A wonderful friend of ours in Las Vegas called and offered to let us borrow one of their vehicles. We were able to go!!! YAY!!! It is such a beautiful temple and we were glad we were able to go!

We then went out to lunch with our friends and then we drove to the airport with them (they were actually on the same flight home).

All in all it was a great trip! A sweet, dear friend of ours watched our children for us so we could go on this trip! I deeply appreciate her help and friendship! I cannot thank her enough for what she did for us!

Randy and I had a wonderful time together on our trip! It was great spending five days without kids, work, home, cooking, or any of the other stressors that are normal in life! What a great opportunity to rejuvenate our relationship!

I love my job!

I know I haven't "blogged" in a while...what can I say, I have been very busy! I finally got a job as an MT (Medical Transcription) back in December. The down side was I had to go into the office and work, instead of working from home! My boss, Tina, told me about 3 weeks ago what I had to accomplish in order to move home, so I was working really hard! There was a TON of dictation from doctors on the computer, so I wasn't going to be able to learn radiology (one of the "going home requirements"), but then Wednesday night I got a call from Tina asking me if I would like to start working from home! I cannot believe it! I am so excited! So, yesterday (January 29, 2009) after my shift, Randy came and helped me move my computer home. We stopped by Wal-Mart and bought a wireless card for the computer and we also bought a desk for me there! He put the desk together and I set up my computer....I am excited to be able to continue staying home during the day to work! I will be able to take care of Katelyn, and spend time with her before she heads off to Kindergarten. I will also, once again, be able to go to her dance and gym class! I truly missed going to that! Anyway, it is truly a good thing, and I am very humbled that the Lord keeps blessing me when I am sure I am not worthy of all of these blessings....although it keeps me trying harder to be worthy. I just don't think I will ever be able to catch up! :) Anyway, I am grateful, nonetheless, and I am happy!

Okay, I have to explain these funny pics. Randy and I decided we didn't need a mower because we aren't doing our yard this year, but the weeds soon proved us wrong. Well, Randy's grandpa had this old mower, and offered it to us for this year. It's hilarious! Randy looks like he is on one made for kids! But, hey, it mows down the ugly, dead weeds in pretty good time, and now we can take our time finding a mower that is right for our needs. I included the pic of the door because I just got around to staining it. I really like the color--I was worried about it before I did it (you know, "did I pick the right color?", "am I going to stain it so it looks good?", etc), but I think it turned out well. I still need to do the clear coat and then it will officially be done!!!!! Anyway, enjoy the pics and let me know what you think!

Okay, you guys talked me into it!

I am excited to join the blogging community! I hope, like Christa, that I can remember to update this more often than I do my journal! I also hope I can get some pics up soon. My other computer went kaput on me, so I am having to start over on a new one. So, I will try to get some pics downloaded (or is it uploaded?).

I really hope you guys are all having a lot of fun this summer! We are definitely going to have to get together before the end of the summer. Maybe we could all have a BBQ at my house. I don't have any grass, but we will survive! Let me know if you gals would be interested! I would love it!!!!

Well, I will try to get some pics on here this week. But, I wouldn't hold your breath if I was you!

Have a great day!!!!!
